Burnout and Rolling Drag to make for fantastic Friday at BIC

A fantastic evening packed with non-stop thrills, including an all-new dazzling activity for drag racing lovers, is all set for this Friday (May 17) at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir.

Taking place as a fun-filled double-header at “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East”, the second round of the hugely popular Burnout Nights will be complemented by the highly anticipated debut of Ramadan Rolling Drag.

Both experiences will be making for a busy and fantastic Friday night at BIC, with Burnout taking place from 8pm to midnight at the BIC car park and Rolling Drag lighting up the strip from 9pm to 1am.

Friday’s Burnout activity is set to be the second of four during the holy month. Traditionally held during this time of year, this high-octane offering attracts participants from all over the Gulf, each of whom are certainly determined to put on a fantastic show for the massive crowds that turn out.

The participation fee is BD7.5 for each driver and one crew member. Those who would like to join in on the excitement as a passenger can do so for BD5.5.

All entrants’ vehicles must meet specific eligibility criteria before being permitted to take part. Spectators will be able to watch this Friday’s event for BD2. There will also be a VIP section for BD10.500.

Meanwhile, Rolling Drag is a brand new activity at BIC, adding to the already many options available to enjoy the delights of motorsport first-hand.

Similar to BIC’s Drag and Drift Night, Rolling Drag gives a chance for participants to power their cars or motorbikes down the circuit’s quarter-mile strip, sanctioned by the US-based National Hot Rod Association.

The major difference from the Drag and Drift activity is that, in Rolling Drag, those who take part do not start from a standstill but from rolling speed of 80kph.

It is the perfect activity to invite a friend or more, and then challenge them for a series of head-to-head battles to see who can outgun the other.

The cost to participate in the Ramadan Rolling Drag is BD20 for each driver or rider. There is an additional fee of BD5 for a service car and BD7 for an accompanying passenger. Spectators can watch all the action for a nominal entry fee of BD2.

Just as in every BIC activity, safety standards of the highest level are followed at all times during the evening’s events for both drivers and spectators alike.
