Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East”, hosts on Friday (January 11) the fourth round of National Racy Day, featuring four of the country’s leading circuit racing championships.
Set to put on a show are some of the most talented amateur drivers and riders from the local and regional scene. They will be contesting for wins and points as well as for the ultimate bragging rights in the BIC 2,000cc Challenge, the Bahrain Motorcycle Racing (BMR) 600, Bahrain Superbike Championship (BSBK) and the Bahrain Supersport Championship (BSSP) 125.
All the action will be held along BIC’s 2.55-kilometre Inner Track.
Racing on Friday will begin with the BSSP practice at 9am. Qualifying in the series will then be held at 11.40am, to be followed by the eight-lap first race at 1.32pm, to be followed by race two at 3.50pm.
The BMR 600 riders will kick things off at 9.35am with practice, with qualifying set for 12.05pm. Race one will be at 2.05pm, followed by race two, both over 11 laps, at 4.23pm.
The BSBK will get their action underway with practice at 10.10am. Qualifying will follow at 12.30pm, setting the grid for 11-lap race one at 2.38pm. Race two will flag off at 4.56pm.
The BIC 2,000cc Challenge will be the last to get out onto the tarmac for the day. They are scheduled to commence racing at 10.45am with practice and at 12.55pm with qualifying. Race one will be at 3.12pm and race two at 5.30pm as the final session of the day. Both races will be over 12 laps.
All are welcome to attend the meeting. Tickets can be purchased at the gate at BD2.100 apiece for adults and half the price for children.
National Race Day features seven rounds in the 2018-’19 season. Following Friday’s events, round five is set for February 1, round six on March 8 and round seven on April 26.
