The Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix
Formula 1’s favourite night race lived up to its billing for yet another year as Bahrain International Circuit hosted a brilliant spectacle under the desert stars with the Formula 1 2018 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.
“The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East” was in the global spotlight from April 6 to 8.
The Sakhir event marked the second of 21 rounds on the 2018 FIA Formula 1 World Championship, following the season-opening meeting in Australia.
Motorsport’s elite lined up on the grid for an epic 57-lap battle, one that saw a thrilling chase to the finish between Sebastian Vettel and Valtteri Bottas and plenty of other drama elsewhere.
Aside from Formula 1, the FIA Formula 2 Championship and Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East provided loads of additional hotly contested racing action. Off the track, Carlos Santana, Benjamin Booker and Disclosure headlined the family friendly entertainment programme.
Overall, the Formula 1 2018 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix saw a repeat record of 33,000 on Race Day, same as in 2017, and 95,000 fans over the three-day race weekend, up from 93,000 the year before.
Thank you, Bahrain!
